Holy Earthquake!
Here in the Midwest is the last place I would ever expect to feel an earthquake. Strange, but true at about 4:40 this morning was my first experience with one. I sat up straight out of Bed hearing two antique dressers rattling away in my bedroom. Now, at first I thought it was the wind, because the wind here is vicious and is enough to blow the house down at times. I realized though that it was calm as can be outside.......So then my mind wandered to ghosts. It was the only explanation, :0) until I turned on the news and realized that there was an 5.4 earthquake in Southern Illinois that was felt as far as 450 miles away. They said that there are no mountains here to absorb the shock and that is why it traveled so far. So, at least I know that it isn't ghosts! Although, I am not so sure that I am comfortable with an earthquake either! I thought they only happened in California.

Here is a painting that I bought on Etsy. My very first Etsy purchase. :0) I bought it from the talented Heather from AudreyEclectic Check out her shop on Etsy and see all the other great items she has for sale. I LOVE this wonderful girl and her dolly. The greens are just perfect to coordinate with my newly painted living room. Thank you Heather!
I am working on some new things, but I have to admit that I have lost my muse somewhere.....along with my daughters library book (which is a whole other story). I must find her again soon...she must be feeling lonely, because I sure am without her.

"Oh my Gosh Tink, I heard about the Earthquake on the morning new today!!" It was pretty big uh, enough for you to feel it...how scary!! I hate them here;-( How are now..still shaken up?
*I am so in love with your Painting, I want one now too! Thank you for sharing this, Heather is very talented, I will go check her out.

Hello Tink, what a rude awakening to a earthquake, but I guess a bit of relief to know you have no ghost. Glad all was well and no one was hurt and no major losses....something you are not likely to soon to forget.....Love your painting.

Thats a sweet painting :)
Having grown up along the coast of Central California, I can assure you that one never gets use to earthquakes! They're somewhat frightening at night. I recall the Loma Prieta Quake of 89 and we had aftershocks for days but that evening was the worst. You can hear the windows rattling before you even feel the quake..scary I tell you! Glad you guys are okay :)

Aw, Im so glad the painting has such a great home to live in! That makes it all worth while :)
That is so crazy about the earthquake! I dont know what I'd do if one happened here...I think I'd rather try my chances with a tornado, atleast you can hide from those ;) there's no getting awake from a quake!~

Hi Michelle, What a lovely little purchase. She is charming. How weird that we had an earthquake here in the midwest. Hope we don't get any more big shakes around here.
Oh, hey I think I saw your muse catching the train. It sounded like she was saying that she's on her way back home. I wouldn't be surprised if you see her very soon! ;)

Tink? How cute, like Tinkerbell! Ah yes, we've had a few earthquakes up here in Oregon and it was freaky! My sister in Cincinnati felt that earthquake as her home shook. Must have been a deju vu for her as she used to live in California.
Your painting is beautiful and whimsical. Kudos!

Didn't even feel this one.... a few years ago I was awake for the slight tremor we had there too! doesn't help we are sitting on a fault line!!!! with all the mines around us I am imagining we will get sucked into the ground one of these days!!! Hey, I'll take that ghost instead! LOL. Sweet painting! take care. Tracey

I just discovered your work/blog and I love it! The painting you purchased is darling as well.
I heard about the earthquake...and, when I lived in NYC, learned that they happen all over the USA, just not as much as in Cali. There is actually a large fault line that runs down the East Coast..Eeek! I don't think one is ever prepared to experience them.
Look forward to seeing more of your pretties!
:)
