Rebecca is My Newest Doll. She is available for Sale on TDIPT Mercantile. Thanks for peaking! :0)
I have been having so much fun this week with my Daughter who is on Spring Break. We have had a lot of Mommy and Me time and she loves to create, so I set her up with some paints and a wooden box, while I created a few bunnies. Thanks to all who encouraged me to make more! :0)
This is Blue Bell. She is such a sweet little thing she loves that I dressed her up in Rich Brown and that beautiful Robin's Egg Bleu.
I am trying something new with my picture taking and I am not sure if it is a bit to "Loud"....So please forgive me if it is. It is Easter and Spring and I thought we could all use some Color in our drab worlds!
Please meet Cammie. She is sort of shy, but she loves her bright yellow and Brown Outfit.
Both Bunnies are string jointed in the arms and legs which makes them pose-able. I have hand sewn each foot pad. Their eyes are painted on fabric and then attached by hand to their little bunny faces. They measure about 11 inches tall and have wire pose-able ears. Their cute little noses and Adorable tails have been needle felted with wool. They can stand freely with a little bit of coaxing. :0)
I will be listing these in my Etsy Shoppe later today.
Hope they brighten your day! They sure brighten mine being that we are expecting snow later. Ugghhhh....Winter Be Gone!
I am looking forward to going back down to the studio to finish up a few dolls soon. Have a wonderful weekend!
Good Old Fashioned Horsing Around. :0) I have been sewing Birthday Gifts this week. Two different birthdays.
This little horse is made from socks and yarn. She has button eyes and a satin ribbon. I had so much fun creating her. I might have to do another and put her in my Etsy shop. I will keep you posted.
This special bunny is for a Sweet Little Girl who tugs at my Heart Strings every time I see her. She loves Polka Dots and Red and White to! I hope that she adores this little bunny. I sure did have fun making her.
My next order of business is being focused enough to finish up a special order for a Special Customer that has been VERY patient with me. :0) I hope to get your dollies mailed out this week. Thanks Sweet Elma. :0)
I have also been asked by an old friend, to create a painting of a girl based on a story book character. Not just ANY storybook character but one from her VERY OWN story that she is in the process of writing!!!! You see, my friend in her grown up life, is an author and a WONDERFUL one at that!! I have been lucky enough to get a brief preview of a couple chapters and I am hooked!! I can't wait to get this painting created. More to come.
Have a beautiful weekend. The sun is shining and the temperatures are rising. Could it be true? Spring is nearly here? The robin's seem to think so and the Red Wing Black Birds. They have been singing so beautifully here in the early morning and even in the afternoon. For this I am thankful!
Here is my newest Mixed Media Piece. I have been working on it and still have a bit more to complete on it. I will be adding more wire to simulate a Bird Cage Effect.
As you can tell I have a thing for Owls. They seem to have a Wisdom and Magic about them. Their eyes grab a hold of my spirit and speak to me.
She is done on BirchBoard using Papers, Acrylics, Rusty Wire and Safety Pins and of course one of favorites, Feathers. More pics to come when I complete this piece.
I also hope to have some dolls finished this weekend.
I want to Thank Elaine from Artful-Spirit for presenting me with the Sisterhood Award. I am honored. I can't figure out how to add the graphic award image into my blog. If I can figure it out I will post more about sharing the award. Thanks so much Elaine.
Inspiration strikes at the funniest of times. Usually based on a vulnerable emotion or feeling. Sometimes our Muse shuts down during these times as well. As an artist I haven't figured out my rhythm or pattern yet. I do know when it strikes it is hot and demanding. I start and just need to finish something. Today was one of those days.
Here is a new piece I finished up tonight. Except I can't decide if she is finished or not. I feel like one last element might be missing. I will sleep on it and return to her in the morning.
I am deeply inspired by Kelly Rae Roberts new book "Taking Flight". Kelly often speaks about emotions and working through them in this book and on her blog. I continue to be inspired months after I have purchased it. Please grab a copy, you won't be disappointed.
I am having an inner struggle because I am wanting to be inspired but not copy her style. I would like to use techniques but make sure that it is my "signature" on the painting. I can't decide if I have achieved that or not.
In this painting, I added an element of my own. A little clay doll that I sculpted using sculpey clay.
I especially love her curly cue hair which is made from clay as well. I added some feather wings and the text in torn and aged with archival inks. I even added a rusty safety pin for fun.
It is so hard to capture the true colors and depth of this piece. I will need to snap a few more pics in the daylight tomorrow.
I also wanted to feature a piece that I purchased from DuBuhDu Designs.
I have been wanting one of these beautiful Lady birds since Christmas and I was lucky enough to get this Beauty on Etsy. I felt like I purchased a Million dollar item! I can't believe how perfectly packaged she was in a nest of pink shreds, smelling of wonderful fresh lavender buds and included was a beautiful tag. I should have taken pictures of this, but I was in to big of a hurry to see the Lady Bird. She is stunning! I can't even describe the beauty, you just have to get one of your own to experience it in person! Just know that when you purchase from Christine you will feel like royalty. She is truly a special gifted Artist. Thanks so much Christine!
More soon on a blog award and hopefully some photos of new dolls.
"The key to change.........is to let go of fear."
Hello Everyone! I am sorry I have been absent for so long. I can't believe it has been a month! I am going through some changes in my life. All for the Better! I feel so great!
I began a fitness routine and have been working out 6 days a week for an hour a day. Results are starting and I am excited! My sweet husband is doing this with me and we are eating so good to! Very healthy. His Blood Pressure has dropped 10 points top and bottom in a month! Hurray!!!
Been doing lots of projects with the kids. Trying to soak in each and every minute of them wanting to hang out with me.....before they despise me as teenagers. :0)
My candles have been keeping me busy. I just finished a fundraiser on Sunday. What a Success!!! Thanks so much Lisa for choosing my products!
I am launching four NEW Spring Scents for this season. Apricot Moon, Lilac Blossoms, Lullaby Dreams and Pomegranate Paradise. They are all soooo wonderfully fragrant. My website will be up and running soon too!!! I am so excited about this! A huge Thanks to all my sweet customers that continue to purchase from me.
Do you remember her??
I have actually had the spark to create within the last few weeks. It seems like it has been forever since I had that magical spark, but I feel it starting to kindle again. I have been working on finishing her up. She needs some clothes so hopefully I can get those soon. Here she is so far....I just LOVE progress!
I even have another little dollie / make-do started....she needs some more work though.
Thanks for checking in on me and visiting! I hope to have some updates soon!
I will leave you with one more pic of a Cabinet Door Rescue I am painting for a friend.....Needs so much work still, but I am taking my time.
I hope you are all well!!! Hopefully, spring has sprung near you. We are still in some frigid temps, but I am looking forward to spring flowers in the worst way!!!
