It's a new year. Lots of new plans started here. I am excited about this coming journey this year. Last year was a year where I learned a lot of patience and strength and I plan to use that knowledge going forward in pursuing my dreams.
Transition is always a hard thing for me. Today is the first day the kids returned to school and my husband returned to work. Having them all home makes my heart so happy even though it leaves me out of routine and getting back to my routine is a transition. I am learning that it is o.k. to be frazzled for a couple days. It's o.k. to take time to settle back into my routine. It's a beautiful thing.
I began a new fitness routine last week. Some of you may remember my journey about 4 years ago that I started with Turbo Fire a beachbody program. I had great success with weight loss but most of all building my confidence and self esteem and gaining a purpose besides being a Mom. I lost 30 lbs in 6 months and never felt better. I not only did the workouts but I also changed my eating. I cut out gluten from my diet and as time went on I have cut out much more. At about the 8 month mark, my body started acting funny. I started gaining weight despite eating better and working out more. I didn't have energy, my hair was falling out, I was FREEZING all the time and so many more symptoms. I continued to push and workout and strive to get that amazing feeling I had back. Months went by...even years...and Finally I found a Dr. who would listen ( i had been to 4 dr's who kept telling me I was depressed) I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's which is an autoimmune thyroid disease. Your thyroid is a very important part of body. Without it you would die. Not many Dr.'s are educated enough to know how to treat the thyroid. It is like finding a needle in a haystack to find a Dr. that does and I was lucky enough to find one which I am very grateful for! There are many books and facebook pages with information that you can educate yourself and learn how to find a good dr. To know what tests you have a right to getting which help tell the whole picture, since the standard TSH rarely shows the whole picture. So anyway after a year of treatment and learning patience I finally am feeling strong enough to begin the new program. And so it begins...I look forward to some results and feeling amazing!
I also discovered with all the testing that I had done that I am allergic to Soy. I had to give up Candle making which was a very hard thing for me to say goodbye too. It is however necessary to my health and in the big picture I am better off. I am still mourning it though a little bit.
This year I am looking forward to creating more art. Discovering more unique techniques to my art and sharing that all with you. If you haven't already signed up for SoulFood class do so right away! My lesson will be airing on Feb 23. I am so excited to get it filmed and ready. I will be giving a sneak peek here when it's finished. I also will be sharing all me new art here. Some will go into my Etsy Shop and some will go to a local shop that I adore who sells my art.
Thank you for reading my blog. I will be sharing more as I live out my dreams in 2015. Happy New Year! May the new Year bring you health and happiness!
